Their presence changed the entire hall. People stood at once.

They walked straight to Lillian and greeted her openly with respect.

Chief Benson faced the room. “Whoever insulted her insulted this family.”

Chief Peter pointed toward Vanessa. “You. Step forward.”

Vanessa’s legs almost gave way.

Then Bianca. Then the others who had spoken carelessly.

One by one, the powerful guests who had mocked Lillian were forced to kneel and apologize.

Still, an older guest asked carefully, “Respectfully, elders, if she is truly who you say she is, where is the official proof?”

Bianca grabbed onto the question. “Yes. She is only strong because the Oiora family is backing her.”

Lillian slowly stood.

“Very well,” she said. “I will not use one kobo of Oiora family money.”

Bianca gave a bitter smile. “Good.”

Lillian turned to Lawrence. “Do you trust me?”

“Yes,” he said without hesitation.

“Your phone.”

He gave it to her.

In front of everyone, Lillian made 2 short calls, sent instructions through Lawrence’s trading channels, and redirected pressure toward Bianca’s family company with clean, sharp strategy.

Within minutes, phones began vibrating across the hall.

Bianca checked hers first. Her face drained.

Then her father called.

“What did you do?” he shouted so loudly that people nearby could hear. “Our stock is dropping. Investors are pulling out. What have you done?”

Bianca could not answer.

“This is your fault!” he shouted. “You have brought trouble to this house!”

The call ended.

Now there was no hiding it.

Lillian was not powerful only because of family blood. She was powerful because she knew exactly what she was doing.

Fear spread through the room.

Some of the same wealthy people who had mocked her now stepped forward with trembling voices.

“Please show mercy. We spoke out of turn. Do not destroy us.”

They expected revenge.

But Lillian looked around calmly.

“One company should not swallow everything. One family should not destroy all others. Business is not healthy that way. A country grows when there is room for many people to build, compete, and rise. If everyone fights to bury one another, nobody truly wins.”

The room went silent again, this time with respect.

Her mercy made her look greater than punishment ever could.

At the end of the gathering, Chief Benson announced on behalf of the elders, “For the Oiora family’s new expansion, we believe Okoro Group is the most suitable primary partner.”

There was no resistance left.

Lawrence’s company rose even higher that night.

Outside the main hall, Femi, Mrs. Margaret, and Clara watched much of the event from the reception screens. Silence sat heavily on them.

They watched Lillian stand in a power they had once laughed at.

A power too calm to beg. Too high to chase them. Too real to deny.

For the first time, they understood.

They had not only lost a woman.

They had thrown away a world they could never reach.

After the Oiora event, the whole city changed the way it spoke Lillian’s name. Some still whispered, but no one laughed as freely as before.

Lillian ignored the noise. She met the elders when needed, answered Uncle Joseph’s calls, and tried to settle her heart.

But one thing had changed.
