The Traditional Meat Lasagna

The Traditional Meat Lasagna

  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can substitute part of the ricotta filling with cottage cheese or use lean ground turkey in the meat sauce.
  • Feel free to add vegetables, such as sautéed spinach or mushrooms, to the meat sauce for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • This lasagna can be made ahead of time! Simply assemble it, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for up to 2 days before baking. You can also freeze it for up to 2 months—just bake from frozen, adding an extra 10-15 minutes to the cooking time.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover lasagna in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a covered oven-safe dish at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through. This lasagna can also be frozen for up to 2 months—wrap individual portions tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
